Role description
We are strengthening our HVDC field organization and are looking for Commissioning Engineers / Project Engineers to join our team. The role focuses on HVDC commissioning, field execution and technical project support, with opportunities to grow into senior engineering, supervisory or project management roles over time.
You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from preparation and site execution to testing, handover and lessons learned, working closely with customers, OEMs and internal specialists.
Responsibilities
- Participate in commissioning and start-up activities of HVDC systems and subsystems.
- Support testing, verification, troubleshooting and functional checks.
- Assist with site coordination and technical supervision.
- Follow and apply HVDC safety procedures, HSE requirements and quality standards.
- Support planning, documentation, reporting and close-out activities.
For more experienced candidates, the role may also include:
- Acting as Commissioning Lead / Site Supervisor.
- Technical decision-making and coordination of subcontractors.
- Customer interface and advisory responsibilities.
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electronics or similar.
- Strong interest in HVDC, high-voltage systems or power transmission.
- Willingness to work in field-based, project-oriented environments.
- High safety awareness and structured way of working.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
Entry-level profile:
- 0–3 years of relevant experience or recent graduate.
- Basic understanding of power systems, testing or commissioning.
- Motivation to learn and develop into a commissioning role.
Experienced profile (meriting):
- Experience from HVDC, FACTS or high-voltage substations.
- Previous involvement in commissioning or field engineering.
- Experience leading technical activities.
